here i am, wide awake at 6.50am on a Monday morning at Traders Hotel having the urge to blog about 19 Dec 2009. the big day finally arrived after much anxiety and anticipation and went away with memories to remember and cherish for a lifetime.
the night before, my friends came over for our annual christmas party :) i got Wenxin's facial masks during the pressie exchange - so lucky! just the right pressie for a bride-to-be! after that, the night was filled wif busy preparations for tom's games and lots of grooming for the girls (mani & pedi) =P just a min right after 12, i had the hair combing ceremony where Dad and Mum combed my hair 3 times, and spoke auspicious lines during each time. i couldn't get much sleep after that. closed my eyes and tried not to think of anything else but still...... i reckon that's the way most brides behave before the big day? haha.
5 plus into 19 Dec 2009's morning, i decided to get out of bed and bum around since i can't sleep. by 6, there was a flurry of movement as most of the girls have already awoken and they took turns to bathe, have breakfast, change and make-up. Terry & Lawrence (photographer, videographer) arrived punctually at 7 and were already snapping pics away when Helen (make-up artist) arrived shortly after them. we were all ready to put on the make-up and do the styling for my hair. probably it's the stress, so i didn't really smile a lot. and had Lawrence to say that i look like a disciplinary mistress haha! so i told him, my profession is a teacher leh~ he was quite paisei after that. hmm. disciplinary mistress? can make that a goal for my career yea? (since i have the calibre!) relatives streamed into our house and there was quite a crowd by the time i finished my make-up and styling. lots of pic taking after that =P (i hope i looked nice! *beams*)
right on schedule, the groom and his bros arrived 8.30 at my house and had to endure a series of gruelling tasks =P well, not too gruelling lah~ can't let the groom in just like that yea? haha.
> weight. the groom & bros have to stand on the weighing machine and the total of their weights shall be what the sisters expect for the ang pow :)
> Suan Tian Ku La. lemon juice, an extremely BIG lollipop, bitter gourds from Japan and wasabi on crackers for morning snacks.
> Q&A. Categories: Maths, Geography & English. Groom picked Maths and was asked to add up the digits of the date of our first anniversary into the relationship. he had to use his feet to pick up the correct ans from a bucket of ice cubes and water.
> Dance. Groom & bros wore disposable underwear which bore the letters "I-symbol of heart-J-A-S-!-!" and danced "Nobody" by Wonder Girls. Demonstration by my sisters =P
> Sing. Before the groom was given the key to my door, he sang "Ni Shi Wo Zui Shen Ai De Ren" by Yong Bang. (under my request hehe, i've always like the song cos the lyrics are so meaningful!)
> Love contract. as the name reads haha. groom to seal his promises to bride by his lipstick print and signature :)
went over to groom's place for tea-serving after that. i was perspiring madly cos of the walking around :( anyway, things went by without any glitch and after that we went over to our new house!
the groom carried the bride into the bedroom and had the dessert to symbolise "Tian Tian Mi Mi" marriage life. changed into the tea dress and we set off for the bride's house!
tea-serving at the bride's house and throwing of the bridal bouquet. thanks to my sisters who didn't want to catch the bouquet, the flowers from the first nice throw landed right on the floor with not much response from the girls. haha. the second throw, the bouquet landed right into Jinyi's hands. congrats my dear! i'm positive your mr right is just somewhere around that corner :)
that concludes much of the day event. haha. finally time for a breather! had lunch and off we went to the hotel to check-in and rest!
(post on wedding dinner to be updated again! written an hour just for this.)
