this sounds greedy and very tai-tai but i went for hi-tea buffet again yesterday with shuping and our close colleague, weili! :)
destination: goodwood park hotel
there are 3 different hi-tea buffets available - nonya (local), western and dim sum. wanted to go for the western one (as strongly recommended by my sis) but alas! i made the reservations for the nonya buffet instead. thank goodness the nonya one was good too. :) food was not much of a variety, but ambience was definitely at its best. of course if they had a pianist(the western buffet has), it would be the best of the best!
food: (retrieved from my deteriorating memory hee) indian rojak, tao suan, fried dumpling, some dim sum (har gaw, siew mai) mee goreng, fried chicken wings/drumstick, fried yam cake, otah, chwee kueh, kueh pietee (diy wif stuffings like prawns and eggs and turnip), curry chicken, roti j-something (not roti prata, but some bread-like thing which tasted nice when dipped in curry), laksa, mee siam, assorted nonya delights like nine-layered cake, tapioca cubes, some brown sugar kueh etc, movenpick ice-cream such as mango passionfruit sorbet and caramel-something, bobo-chacha, assorted fruits, cakes that included strawberry yoghurt cake, choc mousse etc etc
i tasted a little of everything (except laksa) and found the food to be delicious! though the lack in variety, they don't give crap. :) it's pricey at 32++ (which came up to bout 37) but once in a while lah! keke a good place to chill :) next time will be the western buffet! heard that the pastries are good! yeah!!
