17-Mar-2008: the guy's special day!
in the afternoon we went to vivocity for the movie - No Country For Old Men. erm not recommended for the weak hearted pls. there was this part where they showed the killer cleaning up his gunshot wound; with the injection (tat horrific looong needle!) and yaking out of the bullet with blood oozing from the wound. eeeks.
after the movie ended, we walked aa bit @ vivo and found young couples (by young, i mean students of 13-15 yrs) making out at the outdoor top floor of vivo! making out!!! as in, they were kissing like nobody's business. didn't even stop as strangers walk past them; totally engrossed in their hanky panky. kids these days!
as evening beckons, we went up mount faber for dinner! just a little note: that guy was kept in the dark all this while, he didn't know we're going for sky dining! :) when i finally led him up the stairs @ the jewel box, and walked past the restaurants and to the cable car station, he was rather surprised! keke.
saw many tables arranged nicely by the side as we waited for our unique dining experience to begin. soon after a cable car came along and whoosh, the staff placed the table promptly into the cable car as it made the first turn. we quickly hopped on while the soups were being served by the second turn and off we went!
as we were early we were able to catch the sunset by the time we made one round back to mount faber for the main course. :) the main courses were grilled fish dory and chicken chop in special sauces served with mashed potatoes/ potato wedges respectively and a ladle-full of vegetables such as aparagus, carrots and tomatoes. yums! despite it being just ordinary western dishes, i must say the food tasted wonderful and there's just something different from those at the restaurants.
it got cooler as the sun set. heh. they have also provided a wooden fan (like those in the olden days) in case we over heat =p am pleased with their attentiveness to our needs. finally it's time for dessert! i've also arranged for a cake (oreo cheesecake!) wif a lighted candle to be served so that i can sing a birthday song for the guy! but hey, surprise! the staff sang him the birthday song ahead of me and he was pleasantly surprised and happy and touched almost-to-tears after that. :)
by the time we went on our third round, the sky was dark and so was the interior of the cable car. heh. took in all the night sights of sentosa and vivo cum harbourfront, must say it's beautiful to be up there looking down! as we travelled back to mount faber i made mr tham sing a song which brought tears to my eyes *sweeet & touched* :)
it was indeed a wonderful sky dining experience!
happy birthday my dear! :)
