my colleague drew a vase on a cardboard before pasting it against the wall. then we bought some gold twists (as the branches) and twirled the white ones around the 'branches'.

added the words ji2 xiang2 ru2 yi4 for prosperity and peace to come our way; and hung some ang baos for the lucky colour.
too plain?
stuck two more chun1 lian2s at the sides.

pretty!
then we also hung a dragon with each of our chinese characters on it. i like mr merican's handwriting :) his chinese words are so beautifully bubble-written! so the dragon symbolises - soaring to great heights! for deposits team!!

and one more!
this is the best part of our decor.
mandarin oranges made of balloons!
my colleague's brillant and point-scoring idea!! look how pretty they are!

and with that, we won the first place together wif the securities team! (mr tham's team heh) was a tie lah~ could have been the sole champion if not for the words 'written' on white paper. boss said the white paper was the minus point - cos ppl considered 'white' to be more apt for use at the funeral rather than for cny. whoopsee.
i didn't know that really. made me rather guilty cos i did those words. (teared ang baos into small pieces and then pasted them against an outline of the chinese words on white paper.)
anyway! so our prize - *drums roll*
$60 takashimaya vouchers!!!!!
to be shared among 5 of us that is.
la~la~la~
but all that matters - we had our share of fun! from shopping for the stuff to putting them up. am so proud of my team! depo rules!
